Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe has finally addressed the criticism trailing her marriage to the proprietor of Ibaka TV, Kazim Adeoti, popular known as Adekaz.
Mercy Aigbe Speaks On Marriage To Adekaz
KanyiDaily recalls that Mercy Aigbe has been heavily criticized after she announced her marriage to Adekaz, a married man who reportedly abandoned his ex-wife and four children in Minnesota, U.S, when he was dating the actress.
Amidst the backlash, Mercy’s ex-husband, Lanre Gentry shared an old photo of himself, the actress, and Adeoti, fueling speculations that Mercy and Adeoti were dating while she was still married to Gentry.
During a telephone conversation with a Television Continental (TVC) talk show host, Morayo Afolabi-Brown, the actress debunk some claims about her marriage to Adeoti.
Mercy Aigbe revealed that her new husband is a Muslim and is entitled to marry more than one wife, adding that her two partners were never friends as rumoured in some quarters.
The TV host announced that the actress tried calling in on the show, but the poor network signals made it impossible, so she sent a text message which was read live.
Morayo said, “Mercy Aigbe had called me because she felt that we were misleading the direction of our conversation. According to her, her current husband which she recently got married to and her ex were never friends,”
“They only attended an event where her present husband, a marketer in the industry, invited her to his birthday party, which she had attended in her ex-husband’s company.
“And secondly she told me that the man is a Muslim, he’s entitled to more than one wife, so yes, he has issues with the first wife, and he is now married to her as the second wife and as a second wife, doesn’t she deserve to be happy?”
The talk show host said the actress also stated that people sent her derogatory messages on Instagram, which was depressing to her and her children.
“She was really upset that people were going to her DM threatening her kids and this has nothing to do with her children,” Morayo added.
Meanwhile, Mercy Aigbe’s estranged husband, Lanre Gentry has addressed the controversy tailing the paternity of their son, Olajuwon Gentry.
