Governor Seyi Makinde Reacts To Deadly Bullion Van Robbery Attack In Ibadan
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has revealed that investigation is ongoing to unravel those behind the robbery attack that occurred in the Idi-Ape area of Ibadan.
KanyiDaily recalls that armed robbers had killed two policemen and an unspecific number of civilians during an attack on a bullion van at Iwo Road on Thursday.
While many people scampered for safety, commuters were forced to abandon their cars in the middle of the road as security operatives struggled to repel the attack.
The bullion van was said to have set out from a new generation bank along Testing Ground in Iwo-Road when the armed robbers attacked it and made away with an unspecified amount of money.
Makinde Express Sadness Over Bullion Van Robbery
Taking to his Twitter page on Thursday night, the governor expressed sadness over the robbery incident which resulted in death and injuries of residents.
He extended his condolences to victims of the robbery attack, pledging that security agents are currently carrying out investigations.
He said, “I received the sad news of the robbery attack at the Idi-Ape axis of Ibadan which resulted in death and injuries of residents.
“The security agencies are investigating the incident. I pray that the souls of the dead rest in peace, and ask that we keep their families in our prayers.”

KanyiDaily had also reported how two people were killed when armed robbers ambushed and attacked a bullion van in broad daylight in Addo Road, Ajah, Lagos State.
