The lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Senator Uba Sani has commissioned several newly constructed neighborhood sports centres in the state.

The lawmaker, who disclosed this on his Facebook page, said he honored the handing over and commissioning of the zonal intervention projects including an ICT Centre in Turunku.
According to him, the sports centers and the ICT projects will create opportunities for Kaduna youths to showcase their talents, realize their full potentials, and keep abreast of technological developments.
Senator Sani also revealed that the occasion was graced by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Youths & Sport, representatives of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Royal Fathers, and other critical stakeholders.
He wrote, “I had the privilege and honour today of commissioning and handing over to relevant Kaduna State Government Ministries the Neighbourhood Sports Centres in Kaduna North, Igabi and Kaduna South Local Governments, as well as the ICT Centre in Turunku.
“I facilitated the zonal intervention projects to create opportunities for the teeming youths of Kaduna State to showcase their talents, realize their full potentials and keep abreast of technological developments.
“I was joined at the colourful ceremony by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Youths & Sport, representatives of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Royal Fathers and other critical stakeholders.
“The completion and handover of the neighbourhood centres and ICT Centre is indeed a dream come true. Kaduna State is overflowing with talents in different sports.
“If the sports sector is properly harnessed and developed as a business, it has the potential of fundamentally contributing to the fight against poverty and youth unemployment.
“Sports is also a tool for building peace and ensuring harmonious existence. Through the neighbourhood centres our youths will interact effectively, understand each other better and build lasting relationships.
“The ICT Centre will contribute to the development of the skills of our youths in information technology. The knowledge economy is the future of the world. Our youths must be repositioned to be globally competitive.
“The initiation of these projects is a deliberate move to complement the wonderful infrastructural drive of our dynamic and innovative Governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai.”
In another post, he added, “Today was the turn of Chikun and Kajuru local governments for the commissioning and handing over of the newly constructed Neighborhood Sports Centres which are part of the zonal intervention projects I facilitated courtesy of NDIC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to create opportunities for the teeming youths in my constituency.
“With the conclusion of this commissioning, we have now officially handed over five (5) Neighborhood Sports Centres to the Kaduna State Ministry of Youth & Sports.
“While in Chikun LG, I also took time to pay homage to the new Esu Chikun, His Highness, Ishaku Yari to congratulate him on his conferment and to also inform him of the intervention projects I have facilitated for Chikun LG.”
