The billionaire founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk has joined Twitter’s board of directors after becoming the social media platform’s largest shareholder.

In a post shared on his Twitter page on Tuesday, April 5, Parag Agrawal that the billionaire has been appointed as one of the board of directors of the social media platform.

Agrawal said Musk is a bigger force needed to make the company stronger, adding that he is a passionate believer in the service rendered by the company.

He wrote, “I’m excited to share that we’re appointing @elonmusk to our board! Through conversations with Elon in recent weeks, it became clear to us that he would bring great value to our Board.

“He’s both a passionate believer and intense critic of the service which is exactly what we need on @Twitter, and in the boardroom, to make us stronger in the long-term. Welcome, Elon!”

On his part, Musk said. “Looking forward to working with Parag and Twitter board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months!.”

The development comes barely one day after Elon Musk acquired a 9.2 percent stake in Twitter, making him the largest shareholder in the company.
