Jada Pollock, the manager and babymama of Nigerian singer, Wizkid, has taken to social media to express her anger after her principal lost his both nominations at the 2022 Grammy Grammy.
KanyiDaily had reported Wizkid was nominated in the Best Global Music Performance category, recognizing new vocal or instrumental Global music recordings.
He also received a second nomination in the Best Global Music Album category for albums containing at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental Global Music recordings.
However, Wizkid lost both nominations as the Best Global Music Performance award was won by Arooj Aftab, Mohabbat, while Angelique Kidjo, Mother Nature, won the Best Global Music Album category.
Wizkid’s loss comes as a surprise to many people who had predicted a double win for the singer in both categories following the success of his hit single “Essence” and album “Made In Lagos”.
Jada Pollock Reacts To Wizkid’s Grammys Loss
In a now-deleted post shared on her Twitter page, the manager accused the Recording Academy committee of judging based on their personal opinions rather than facts.
Sharing a photo of the achievements of both ‘Made In Lagos’ and ‘Essence’ since the album and song were released, Jada wrote: “When it’s all said and done, facts speak louder than a committee full of opinions, I’ll just leave it here.. @RecordingAcad.”
KanyiDaily recalls that British supermodel and actress, Naomi Campbell had also called out the Recording Academy, insisting that Wizkid deserved to win Grammy awards.
