The Presidential aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Rotimi Amaechi has reportedly resigned as the Minister of Transport.
The former governor of Rivers State held the vital position under the Buhari-led administration for over six years.
According to the Tribune, sources close to the ex-Minister said Amaechi sent “his resignation letter today “.
This is coming after President Muhammadu Buhari ordered all political appointees interested in vying for the presidential seat to step down on or before Monday, 16th May.
Amaechi alongside a few notable politicians will have to contest in the primaries to be the presidential flagbearer of the All Progressive Congress.
