Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the ban of commercial motorcyclists (Okada) in six local government areas of the state.
The governor made this known today, May 18 in a meeting with officers of the Nigeria Police Force where he prohibited the operation of Okada riders in Ikeja, Surulere, Eti-Osa, Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island and Apapa local government areas with effect from June 1st.
According to Sanwo-Olu, this is the first phase of the ban and these commercial motorcyclists are advised to seek an alternative means of earning a living before the 1st of June.

This is coming days after a group of commercial motorcyclists in Lekki, Lagos State beat and burnt a sound engineer to death over N100 balance.
