Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has responded to a recent outburst by the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC, Bola Tinubu, who claimed he made him governor in 2019.
Dapo Abiodun Replies Tinubu
KanyiDaily recalls that the presidential hopeful had recently berated the governor saying the ruling party did not want to give the governorship ticket to Abiodun in the build-up to the 2019 polls.
Tinubu said he did much to ensure the success of Abiodun at the polls, stressing that without him, the latter wouldn’t have become governor due to the APC crisis.
Reacting to Tinubu’s comment on Friday, Abiodun said he is not an emperor by any chance and the position he holds is not a family inheritance.
The governor said he will not abandon the promise he made to the people of the state, adding that he will continue to be fair and just in his dealings.
He said, “I am not an emperor by any chance and this is not my family inheritance. I am holding this position in trust for all the people of this state and I have vowed to be fair, just and equitable and this is the solemn agreement I made between the Almighty God and myself.”
