Panic grips Ondo residents following an explosion that occurred at St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Sunday, 5th June which killed some worshippers.
The church is said to be situated close to the palace of the Olowo of Owo.
Sources revealed that the blast at the church killed a lot of individuals and left many injured.
An eyewitness, Kehinde Ogunkorode, disclosed that the incident stirred unrest in the vicinity, with residents running helter-skelter for safety after the explosion occurred.
The cause of the explosion is yet to be known although reports have pointed accusing fingers at terrorists.
Owo is the hometown of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The Police at the time of filing this report are yet to release an official statement as regards the incident.
