Families of the kidnapped passengers of the Abuja-Kaduna train have staged a protest at the Federal Ministry of Transportation in Abuja.
Families Of Abducted Abuja-Kaduna-Train Passengers
KanyiDaily had reported how a train heading from Abuja to Kaduna was attacked by terrorists who killed nine of the passengers and abducted 60 of them on March 28.
No fewer than 20 of the victims have reportedly been released in batches after the payment of N100m ransom each.
On Monday, July 25, relatives of the remaining victims demanded the Federal Government to take steps to secure the release of their loved ones who has been in captivity for almost four months.
The protesting family members converged on the transportation ministry’s gate on Monday and barred staff from entry.
A spokesperson for the protesters, Ahmed Aruwa, said they would continue to block the entrance of the ministry until they get a definite response from the government.
The protest came barely 24 hours after the kidnappers released a video in which they were seen manhandling some of the abducted passengers and flogging them with sticks as they cried and pleaded for help.
