Nollywood actor, Moses Armstrong has taken to social media to deny an allegation leveled against him that he raped a minor and procured abortion drugs for her.
Moses Armstrong Denies Rape Allegation
KanyiDaily had reported how the popular actor was arrested by the police in June for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl about three years ago.
The victim, who was said to have been schooling outside Nigeria, returned to the country recently and thereafter petitioned the wife of Akwa Ibom state governor with respect to the rape allegation.
On August 10, Akwa Ibom State Government charged Armstrong with rape, intimidation, conspiracy, and supplying of drugs or instruments to procure abortion.
However, Armstrong who is a former aide to the state governor, Udom Emmanuel, pleaded not guilty to all the charges leveled against him and was granted bail in the sum of N5 million.
Armstrong’s friends had taken to their Facebook pages where they shared photos of themselves celebrating his release outside the courtroom on August 11.
Taking to his Facebook page on Tuesday, August 16, the actor said that he has “never raped” anyone before, adding that he was happy he went to prison because “God went with me”.
He wrote, “Nothing Pass God. If you believe, you will receive. Nothing Pass God. I did not rape nobody. I don’t rape…I have never raped,” he wrote.
“And I will never rape. I’m back stronger and better…I’m happy I went to prison, God went with me.”
“The experience is awesome. You will hear it soon. Blessings to all of you Angels that believed in me. Love you all deeply. #ONELOVE #AkwaIbomFinest.”
This comes a few months after Moses Armstrong was suspended by the Actor Guild of Nigeria following the investigation of the AGN into the rape case.
