Nigerian singer, Kizz Daniel has been released from police custody in Tanzania after he was arrested for failing to show up for a paid concert in the country.
Kizz Daniel Released From Tanzanian Police Custody
KanyiDaily had earlier reported how the singer was arrested on Monday after he collected $5000 and failed to show up on Sunday night at the Summer Amplified concert in Dar es Salaam.
In a statement on its Twitter page on Monday, the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) confirmed that it was working towards securing the release of Daniel who was held at Oyster Bay Police Station Civil Police in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
It tweeted, “We can confirm that Kizz Daniel @KizzDaniel is currently at Oyster Bay Police Station Civil Police in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
“We are presently engaging our Mission and see what can be done. We will keep the Public posted with our investigation. Thank you.”
Giving an update, NiDCOM said, “Kizz Daniel has been released. His legal team will, however, report back to the police tomorrow while he will subsequently return to Nigeria.”

This comes weeks after Kizz Daniel apologized to angry fans who threw objects at him and demanded a refund after he arrived “some hours late” at a concert in the United States.
