Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi has congratulated President-Elect of Kenya, William Ruto on his victory at the polls.

William Ruto was declared winner of the Kenya’s presidential election that was conducted few days ago by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Ruto won the fiercely contested Kenya presidential election beating opposition leader, Raila Odinga.
He won with a narrow margin of victory with a little more than seven million votes and Odinga securing a little less than seven million, the IEBC chairperson said. Ruto received 50.49 percent of the vote, while Odinga received 48.85 percent.
Williams Ruto, who won the polls to become the fifth president of the country, said after the IEBC announcement, “There are no losers. The people of Kenya have won because we raised the political bar.
“There is no looking back, we are looking to the future, we need all hands on deck to move forward.”

Reacting to the victory of Ruto, Obi took to his official twitter handle on Saturday night, to felicitate with the president-elect of the East-African nation.
He said Ruto’s emergence is victory for democracy and the people of Kenya.
“I join the lovers of democracy worldwide to congratulate Mr. @WilliamsRuto on his emergence as Kenya’s President-Elect. It is indeed a victory for democracy and the people of Kenya,” Obi tweeted.

The LP presidential candidate also prayed that the 2023 general election in the country will usher in a new Nigeria that will see production toppling consumption in scale of preference.
This, he noted, will make the country become a better place.
“Our prayer is that Nigeria’s coming election will usher in a new Nigeria, where productivity will topple consumption in our scale of preference, so that our country will become a better place,” he said.

In other news, Kanyi Daily had reported that Peter Obi, had few days ago, called on Nigerians to go and verify their names as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had began displaying Voters Register across the country.
“This week, INEC commenced the display of Voters Register for claims and objections. This is time for newly registered Nigerians whose names were omitted or whose data were wrongly captured to go and verify. The process will last for one week. -PO,” he had tweeted.
Also, few days ago the LP presidential candidate had accused opposition political parties of spreading misinformation on both traditional and social media platforms and blaming it on his party.
