The Lagos State police command says it has arrested a motorist, one Billy Tokunbo, captured on camera allegedly assaulting a policeman and also driving against the traffic in the Isolo/Okota area of the state.
Police Arrest Motorist For Assaulting Officer
Spokesman of the command, Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed this in a tweet on his official twitter handle on Friday.
In the video which was also contained in Hundeyin’s tweet, Tokunbo was seen dragging a police officer in uniform with a rifle on his back.
According to him, Tokunbo was immediately arrested and his Toyota Corolla car with registration number LSR 430 FT was equally impounded immediately.
He added that the suspect will be arraigned for his traffic offence and assault on a police officer.
“The suspect, Billy King Tokunbo, who drove against traffic, was immediately arrested. His Toyota Corolla car with registration number LSR 430 FT was equally impounded immediately. He is to be arraigned for his traffic offence and assault on a police officer. Updates to follow,” he tweeted.

Reacting in similar vein, the Force spokesman, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, took to his official twitter handle to frown at the act where some lawless members of the public always assault police officers on duty.
Adejobi said: “In as much as we strive hard to respect people’s dignity, rights, we deserve to be respected as well.”

In other news, Kanyi Daily had reported that the Delta State Police command declared one Kome Ogaga, a 27-year-old man wanted for shooting and killing an 11 years old boy, Hossanna Merritt.
Ogaga was said to have shot and killed Merritt while testing a locally made gun.
