A total of nine persons have died from a ghastly road accident along the Yangoji-Abuja Road in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This was confirmed by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in a statement issued on Sunday by its Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem.
Kazeem disclosed that ten other persons were injured in the crash.
According to him, the accident, which occurred at about 06:05 on Sunday, involved a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number KTG-450 KQ and a Howo Sino truck.
Providing more details, Kazeem said the bus, which was coming from Osun State and heading to Katsina State, crashed into the stationary truck at Sabongari village near Gadabiyu along Abaji-Yangoji.
The FRSC Public Education Officer, said 22 people – all male – were involved in the crash, out of which nine died, ten were injured and two were given first aid.
He said the corpses were deposited at the General Hospital Kwali mortuary, noting that a division of the Nigeria Police Force located at Kwali has taken over the investigation.
Similarly, the acting Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Dauda Biu, has reacted to the accident, blaming it on dangerous overtaking and loss of control.
Biu asserted that crashes at night are more fatal than those in the daytime.
He advised drivers to ensure their vehicles are in good conditions before they get on the road and reiterated the commitment of the FRSC in sensitization of motorists across the country.
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily had reported that about six people were trapped when a seven-storey building collapsed in Lagos on Sunday.
The building, said to be under construction is located at Oba Idowu Oniru Street in the state.
