The Ogun Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers at a forest along Imeko-Iwoye ketu road and rescued three of their victims.
The suspects are Aliu Abubakar-29 years, Umaru Tukur-24 years and Yau Isah-25 years.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the command Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi and posted on the twitter handle of the command on Tuesday.
Ogun Police Reveal How They Arrested Three Suspected Kidnappers
According to the statement, the suspected kidnappers were arrested after policemen at Imeko divisional headquarters received a distress call that about eight (8) kidnappers armed with dangerous weapons blocked Termac/Iwoye road and were shooting sporadically.
Oyeyemi said, “the information revealed further that the hoodlums had injured the duo of Bode Ogunleye and Muhammad Basa, while the trio of Alhaji Fatai Abdulsalam, Alhaji Dauda Orelope and Alhaji Rafiu Isah were abducted by the same group.
“Upon the receipt of the distress call, the DPO Imeko division, mobilized his men in-conjuction with Amotekun corps, So safe corps, Hunters, Vigilantes as well Fulani/Yoruba youths and stormed the forest in search of the victims and their abductors. Due to the intense pressure, the kidnappers abandoned thier victims and took to flight leaving an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle behind at thier hideout in the forest.
“The victims were rescued unhurt, while the secuity operatives continued combing the bush which led to the discovery of the above three suspects where they were hiding in the forest. When they were searched, the key to the abandoned motorcycle at the scene of the kidnap was recovered in the pocket of one of them along with three cutlasses.”

The police image maker also disclosed that the commissioner of police in the state, Lanre Bankole has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the anti-kidnapping section of the state criminal investigation department for discreet investigation.
In other news, Kanyi Daily had reported that the Rivers State police command rescued 15 kidnapped children from different parts of Port Harcourt and its environs.
The police boss in the state, Friday Eboka who disclosed during a news briefing, said a fake reverend sister was also arrested.
