Former President of the Senate, Adolphus Wabara has been appointed the acting Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by the party.
Wabara Becomes PDP BoT Chair
His appointment by the PDP followed the resignation of the former BoT chairman, Walid Jibrin on Thursday afternoon.
Wabara has also been named the Political Adviser of the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu.
Before this appointment, the former senate president, was the Secretary of the PDP BoT.
Reports say Wabara would be also be appointed to the PDP presidential campaign council.
Furthermore, there are reports of other ongoing engagement to appeal to the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal to step aside from his position as Chairman of PDP governors forum.
The latest developments are moves aimed at pacifying the south, especially the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike to throw their weight behind the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2023 general election.
In other news, Kanyi Daily had reported Wike said the PDP must respect governors under its platform because the party uses their projects for campaigns.
