Tonto Dikeh Offers Scholarship To 1000 Orphans, Says Half Education Is Better Than Illiteracy
Nollywood actress and politician, Tonto Dikeh has taken to social media to announce that her foundation is set to pay the school fees of 1000 Nigerian orphans.

The actress, who is the deputy governorship candidate of the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, disclosed this on her Instagram page.
Sharing photos of her visit to the orphanage home, the actress said that the Tonto Dikeh Foundation picks kids across different orphanage homes for enrollment on scholarships.
Dikeh argued that half education is cheaper and better than illiteracy, noting that she lives for helping humanity and believes every child deserves the right to education.
She wrote: “Let’s live for humanity. The best TGIF of the month of September yesterday 9th where I was invited by the HOPE FOR SURVIVAL ORPHANAGE which is one of the homes where @tontodikehfoundation picks enrollment of kids annual Educational Scholarship Scheme (ESS).
“The visit and invitation as a Special Guest afforded me great opportunity to Commission the renovated building by the Stanbic IBTC. Witnessing this event gave me hope for the future of our African kids, organisations and institutions should support such initiative. This is what I live for, let’s join hands to do more for the less privileged and minorities in the society.
The TONTO DIKEH FOUNDATION is set to start the school fess payment of the first 1,000 recipient of the #TONTODIKEHFOUNDATIONBACKTOSCHOOLPROJECT. Education is our Watch word and we believe every child deserves the RIGHT TO QUALITY EDUCATION. God ess you all for encouraging and supporting”.
In another post, Dikeh wrote: “HALF EDUCATION IS CHEAPER AND BETTER THAN ILLITERACY.
“According to sociologist, an infant is a helpless organism that needs the support of people to become fit in the society.
“Education is a powerful weapon one can easily use to influence the world, while educating a child is building a generational system to sustain our cultural heritage and values.
“Let’s support the Educational Scholarships System to enable the poor and less privileged ones around us to obtain simple and basic education.
“Poor education brings poor breeding, poor service delivery and poor maintenance culture of our economy and social investment.
“Dear friends, supporters and well wishers, let’s assist one or two persons around us as we plan on embarking on first term school resumption. ILLITERACY AROUND US, DIRECTLY AFFECTS US AS WELL.”
