Zamani’s release, according to The Cable, was confirmed by his lawyer, Folarin Dalmeida on Friday.
Kanyi Daily had reported that the rapper was arrested on September 2 by the Lagos State Police command for allegedly assaulting one of its operatives.
He was subsequently charged on three-counts bordering on assault, obstructing a policeman from carrying out its statutory duties, and abduction.
He was earlier granted bail by the court in the sum of N500,000 in addition to providing two sureties.
The court also ordered that he be remanded at the Ikoyi correctional facility pending when he meets the bail conditions.
Dalmeida said Ice Prince was released on Thursday after the court certified that he has met the bail conditions.
The lawyer said the rapper met the bail conditions before Thursday but his release was delayed due to the verification process.
“Yes, he (Ice Prince) was released yesterday (Thursday). He met the bail conditions even before Thursday but the verification process was what delayed his release,” he said.
The trial of the “Oleku” crooner was billed to commence on Wednesday at the magistrate court in the Ajah area of Lagos.
However, the court adjourned the case till October 24 after the prosecution counsel said his witnesses failed to show up in court.
Ice Prince Zamani spent six days in prison custody.
