A young lady, Kolade Princess who raise an alarm over her father’s alleged violent acts towards her mother, has accused the police of trying to dismiss the case in Lokoja, Kogi State.
Lady Calls Out Police Over Domestic Violence Allegation
KanyiDaily recalls that the lady had claimed that her father, who is a pharmacist, is in the habit of brutalizing her mother and emotionally abusing her and her siblings.
Kolade, who shared a video of her father assaulting his wife, said, “he beats her like a punching bag, threatens to kill her, divorce her, and thinks she’s a witch too”.
The lady called on members of the public to come to her aid, noting that the situation has caused great distress to her family and she does not want her mother to die like the late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu.
In an update shared on her Twitter page, Kolade said the police in Lokoja where they base are blaming her for bringing the matter on social media, and they are trying to sweep the allegations under the carpet.
“Hello, everyone. The police here in Lokoja are trying to sweep the matter under the carpet here, they are blaming me for bringing it online and not attacking why he was beating my mum. My mum is also scared of coming down to police station to make a statement.
“They just want to end it just like that without doing anything, my dad was in their office talking to them for hours, turning their mind and support towards him. The police are opting to just settle it amicably and they want me to go back home.
“Please I don’t want this matter to die like that. I can’t go back to living. He will beat me, seize my phone. We really need help,” Kolade said.
