The House of Representatives on Wednesday claimed that some appointees of President Muhammadu Buhari are sabotaging his anti-corruption campaign.
House Of Reps Allege Some Of Buhari’s Appointees Sabotaging Anti-Graft War
This allegation was made by the reps Committee on Public Accounts.
Chairman of the committee, Oluwole Oke, stated that the lawmakers reject the reduction of the proposed capital budget of the Office of the Auditor General for the Federation from over N2bn to N62m.
Oke particularly called out the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed; the Budget Office of the Federation, and the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.
The committee consequently summoned the officials as well as the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, who is to appear before the lawmakers within seven days to justify the alleged deliberate attempt to cripple the auditing agency.
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that Buhari approved the establishment of a new anti-graft agency to take the corruption fight to the “Next Level”
