The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a Brazil returnee, Iroegbute Ejike Francis at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

Brazil Returnee Arrested With Cocaine At Abuja Airport

The NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, said the suspect was arrested on Thursday 24th November, upon his arrival on a Qatar Airline flight from Brazil-Doha-Abuja.

Said the Brazilian returnee was arrested for allegedly smuggling four kilograms of cocaine soaked in towels and stuffed in his hand luggage into the country.

“The move by a Brazilian returnee, Iroegbute Ejike Francis, 46, to smuggle 4kg cocaine soaked in towels stuffed in his hand luggage into the country was foiled on Thursday 24th Nov by NDLEA officers who arrested him, upon his arrival on a Qatar Airline flight from Brazil -Doha-Abuja,” the statement read.

KanyiDaily had also reported how the NDLEA arrested a 56-year-old widow, Mrs. Ajisegiri Kehinde Sidika, with 400 grams of cocaine concealed in her footwear at Lagos Airport.
