Members of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Tuesday protested against the half salaries paid by the Federal Government in October.
Reports say some students also participated in the protest.
UNILAG Lecturers, Students Protests Half-Pay
ASUU has condemned the half salary to its members and accused the government of attempting to reduce Nigerian lecturers to casual workers.
Recall that the government of Nigeria a few days ago paid members of ASUU half of their salaries for October only.
This may have been the government’s earlier declared ‘no work no pay policy’.
ASUU had on February 14, embarked on strike and suspended it on October 14.
While the strike lasted, the government insisted that lecturers would not be paid for the period of the strike.
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani recently claimed a lecturer told him he was paid 40k as salary.
