The All Progressives Congress (APC) ended its presidential campaign rally in Bauchi State abruptly due to a technical glitch.
It was gathered that the rally ended quickly on Monday following a breach of security arrangements by the crowd that vandalized the barication at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
Souces said the light went off shortly after the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu, mounted the podium and began delivering his speech.
President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu did not deliver their speeches after that electricity supply at the stadium went off.
Thousands of APC supporters angrily left the venue after the address of the Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress, Governor Simon Lalong.
The Senate President Ahmad Lawan could be heard describing the situation as “sad”.
“And there is no alternative?” he asked.
It was gathered that frantic efforts of the engineers manning the electrical equipment of the event were futile, thus forcing Buhari to merely walk to the stage and presented the party flag to APC governorship candidate in the State, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd).
Soon after the President presented the flag, his security details immediately ferried him out of the stadium without making any speech, a development that caused commotion in the facility.
Similarly, Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, also left the venue without uttering a word to the crowd of party members and supporters.
President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to be in Lagos State later on Monday on a two-day working visit, and he is billed to inaugurate a number of projects.
