Knocks For South Africa Over Rapper, AKA’s Murder
Some Twitter users have been knocking South Africa since the murder of one of the country’s rappers, Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes.
Reactions Trail AKA’s Murder
AKA was shot on Florida Road, Durban Friday night.
Another person believed to be AKA’s bodyguard was also wounded, while an unidentified person, who is understood to be a close friend of AKA, was also shot dead in the drive-by shooting, according to an IOL report.
AKA was standing outside the Wish Restaurant when he was gunned down in a drive-by shooting.
Two unknown cars are believed to have opened fire just before 10 pm.
Taking to their respective handles, the users lamented the trend of killing celebrities in South Africa.
They cited the case of the South African famous reggae star, Lucky Dube, who was shot dead in front of his children in a botched car-jacking in October 2007.
Dube was shot and killed as he dropped off his teenage son and daughter at their uncle’s house in Johannesburg’s Rosettenville suburb. Three men approached the car and shot the singer at close range. Police said that Dube attempted to drive away from the gunmen but lost control of the car and ran into a tree. He died at the scene.
Below are some of the Twitter users’ reactions
“I wash my hands South Africa having bodyguards is no longer a privilege in South Africa. Being in South Africa is like being in a slaughtering room, you wait for your turn. No need of being shocked when your turn comes, only the sizes of the cattle that differ. #RIP..AKA💔💔.”

South Africans are useless, they hate Progressive and successful people. No wonder we had and still have Xenophobia.
RIP AKA.”
