American rapper, Sean Combs, popularly known as Diddy, has denied mocking Nigerian singer, Burna Boy over his failure to win a Grammy Award.
KanyiDaily recalls that Diddy was the executive producer on Burna Boy’s 2020 album, “Twice as Tall,” which won him his first and only Grammy in 2021.
Burna Boy secured another nomination for his latest album “Love, Damini” in the same category this year, but he lost the best Global Music Album award to Japan’s Masa Takumi.
South Africa’s Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini & Nomcebo Zikode also defeated Burna Boy’s hit song “Last Last” to claim the award for the Best Global Music performance.
Hours after the loss, an Instagram post allegedly from Diddy shading Burna Boy for trying to win another Grammy award without his help went viral.
“I helped you win your first and only grammy award which I did out of kindness. And somehow you thought you could win another without my help ?? Oh okay..” the post reads.
Diddy immediately replied to the blog page that carried the news and denied ever putting up such a post on his page. He wrote: “This is fake.”

KanyiDaily recalls that Burna Boy was nominated in the same category in 2019 – then known as Best World Music Album – but lost out to Angelique Kidjo at the awards ceremony in 2020.
