Steve Hanke Tackles Buhari Over State Of Nigeria
Steve Hanke, in a tweet on his handle, argued that Buhari after spending eight years in the seat of power in Nigeria is leaving behind a dismal legacy.
Steve Hanke noted that Buhari’s dismal legacy includes corruption, a junk currency, soaring inflation, and a flawed presidential election which saw the emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the polls, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He wrote, “After 8 years as Nigeria’s president, Buhari leaves behind a dismal legacy: CORRUPTION, A JUNK CURRENCY, SOARING INFLATION, and last but not least, a FLAWED PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION in which his man, Bola Tinubu, was pronounced the winner.”
Kanyi Daily recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu announced Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the poll some minutes past 4 am on Wednesday at the National Collation Centre in Abuja.
“That Tinubu Bola Ahmed of the APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected,” Professor Yakubu declared in an announcement.
The major contenders at the polls, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) have rejected the outcome of the election, citing rigging and other forms of electoral malpractices.
