Deyemi Okanlawon Appologizes For Questioning Thaddeus Attah's Winning Against Banky W

KanyiDaily recalls that Thaddeus Attah of the Labour Party (LP) was recently declared as winner of the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

Attah won with 24,075 votes to defeat Banky W of the Peoples Democratic Party  (PDP), who had 18,666 votes, and Babjide Obanikoro of the All Progressive Congress (APC), who had 16, 901 votes.

In an open letter shared on his Instagram page, Deyemi Okanlawon congratulated Attah on his victory, while revealing that he voted for Banky W during the election because he believes the actor was the best candidate for the job.

Okanlawon, who revealed he has done thorough research about Attah and couldn’t find anything about him, asked the Honourable-Elect to join him for a live Instagram conversation to address concerns and respond to questions on his plans for Eti-Osa.

The actor came under heavy fire on social media for his demand, with many accusing him of being condescending towards the Honourable-Elect.

Deyemi Okanlawon Tenders Apology To Thaddeus Attah

In a video shared on his Instagram page, the actor apologized to the new HOR and those who were offended by his letter, stressing that he could have chosen better words to pass his message.

Okanlawon, however, reiterated that he desires to have an online interview with Arrah at his convenience as a concerned Eti-Osa resident and would be grateful if he respond to him.

He said, “In the early hours of today, in the spirit of the season wrote an open letter to the HOR-elect of Eti-Osa Local Government area, Mr. Thaddeus Attah. I admit I could have chosen better words and I could have not allowed the frustration that I have felt about this past week to affect the message that I was trying to pass across.

“So I apologize to Mr. Attah and everyone who felt I was overreaching. I would now try to focus on the core of what I am saying so it’s clear and can’t be misconstrued in any way. I live in Eti-Osa”.

Sharing the video, the actor wrote: “After fans and friend called and messaged me and brought me out of my feelings I have given myself sense and now behaved as I was brought up to do and re-addressed Mr Thaddeus Attah @jt.atta with the same kindness and respect as I would anyone.”
