It was gathered that when a man is marrying another woman in Fulani culture, the new bride would approach the older wife to greet her and the older wife welcomes her into the family.

But, in this case, the older wife attacked the bride with punches and slaps as soon as the new wife approached her and greeted “Assalamu alaikum” during the wedding ceremony.

Despite efforts by other women to break up the fight, the bribe suffered assault at the hands of her senior wife who seemed displeased about her husband’s decision to take a new wife.

Sharing the video, a Twitter user @Fulani_Tutor, wrote: “In fulani culture setting, when a man re marry, the bride (Amarya) will go and greet the first wife, to show respect,

The (First wife) seized this opportunity to attack the bride. This is wrong, there is no justification to this act. Kaajal na ko ginnaji?”
