Bayo Onanuga, a spokesperson for the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, has warned Igbos against “interfering” in Lagos politics.
Onanuga, who is the director of media and publicity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, issued the warning in a post shared on his Twitter page.
According to him, Lagos is a state in Yoruba land and as such, should not be tagged “no man’s land”, as it is a state just like every other in Nigeria.
He tweeted, “Let 2023 be the last time of Igbo interference in Lagos politics. Let there be no repeat in 2027. Lagos is like Anambra, Imo, any Nigerian state. It is not No Man’s Land, not Federal Capital Territory. It is Yoruba land. Mind your business.”

There are indications that Bayo Onanuga was referring to the 2023 presidential elections, in which the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi defeated Bola Tinubu of APC in his stronghold, Lagos state.
