Police has reacted to the threat issued to Igbos by the Chairman of the Lagos Parks Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, otherwise known as MC Oluomo.
KanyiDaily recalls that MC Oluomo was caught on camera threatening Igbo who intends to vote for a party other than the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stay at home during the election on Saturday.
Reacting to the threat during an interview with Arise TV on Friday, Lagos Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa said the video clips are being reviewed and the threats are subjects of ongoing investigation.
He said: “Yes, I can confirm that all the video clips are being reviewed. The statement, the assertions, the threats are subjects of ongoing investigation.
“And as we proceed, if facts are established against the provision of the law, nobody is above the law in this country. Our existence is regulated by law and we are bound together by law. The political process is regulated by law and nobody can be above that.
“So if these allegations are established, you can be sure that appropriate criminal and legal proceedings will be initiated against the specific actors.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Ify Aniebo Rhodes-Vivour, the wife of Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, said this isn’t the first time MC Oluomo is issuing threats to people because he’s backed by the government.
