Some governorship candidates of political parties in Rivers State have stormed the State Police Headquarters to protest alleged intimidation by the state Governor, Nyesom Wike.
The governorship candidates protested at the police headquarters on Friday.
This comes ahead of the March 18th governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections across the country.
The governorship candidates are Senator Magnus Abe of the Social Democratic Party; Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress; Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, Accord, and Tonte Ibraye, African Democratic Congress.
The opposition parties also alleged that their members and supporters were being harassed and arrested by security agencies working for Wike and called for the immediate release of all those arrested within this period.
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that the Labour Party in Ogun State has formed an alliance with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
The alliance comes barely twenty-four hours before the governorship and state assembly election across the country.
Reports say the alliance targets the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Governor Dapo Abiodun who is seeking re-election in office.
