Sham Of An Election, I Will Never Call To Congratulate Sanwo-Olu – Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour
The Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has reacted to the declaration of Babajide Sanwo-Olu as governor of the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The governor polled 762,134 votes, defeating his closest rival, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour who polled 312,329 followed by Olajide Adeniran of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 62,449 votes.
In an interview with Arise TV, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour said he will never call Sanwo-Olu, to congratulate him on the election on Saturday.
The LP guber candidate lamented the alleged violence that was meted out on Labour Party voters in some parts of the state during the election and called the entire process a sham.
He said, “I completely condemn the entirety of this election in very clear terms. This was a sham of an election, a compromised and illegal election that has never been perpetrated in Lagos since I was born.
“This was an election where agents of a party were chased away from their polling units. People from Labour Party were beaten and I had to pay for over 12 persons’ hospital bills who sustained injuries after being attacked yesterday.
“So, I condemn this, I will never call Babajide Sanwo-Olu to congratulate him over this sham; this shambolic election.”
