Damagum, also known as Jagoran Talakawan Jihar Yobe, is a man with strong political conciseness, yet living in the qualms of average Nigerians full of hopes, thirst for his people’s advancement and development, independence, and prosperity.

The politician, who hails from Yobe State, is undoubtedly a symbol of the aftermath of the previous social democratic thirst and drive that is caught between the goals of social and professional evolution.

Umar Damagum blended career and experiences have provided him with the required skills and technical know-how over the years.

BACKGROUND & EARLY LIFE

Umar Iliya Damagum was born on the 10th of august, 1963 in Damagum (present Fune local government area of Yobe state). He is the fourth son of Mallam Iliya Damagum (businessman) and Malama Fatima Iliya Damagum.

Besides the privileges of his father as a businessman, young Umar was passionate about education. he enrolled in a primary school at Damagum central primary school (1971) and finishes at the same school in (1977).

The 60-year-old proceeded to the government college Maiduguri for his secondary school education between 1977 and 1982 and obtained his secondary school certificate.

Umar later gained admission into remedial studies at the prestigious university of Maiduguri (1982-83) and subsequently got admitted into the faculty of education in 1983 where he obtained his bachelor of arts education (b.a. education) in 1988.

He returned to the university of Maiduguri in 1995/1996 and pursued a post-graduate diploma in management (pgdm) and finally, he studied master’s in business administration (mba) at the same university in 2003/2004.

He Is a man who loves to read, work out in the morning (jogging), and also dedicates his time after working hours to hanging out with his family and friend through intellectually driven conversation.

Umar Iliya Damagum is happily married with kids.

In other news, an unidentified woman has been caught on camera assaulting a male police officer.

Watery substance like soup was also seen poured on the head and face of the officer, who was trying to effect an arrest of the woman. The woman, however, refused to be arrested.
