Former Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuemeka Ezeife has revealed why the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, would not be sworn in as president.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had been accused of manipulating the electoral process and rigging the presidential election in favour of Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbear.
Speaking on Arise TV Morning Show on Thursday, Ezeife said it was obvious that Peter Obi of the Labour Party, won the presidential election across the country.
He said that Tinubu can’t be sworn in as president become it would be disastrous and impossible to achieve one Nigeria.
The ex-governor said the presidential election revealed so many things to Nigerians, stressing that despite alleged manipulations, the election showed there is still hope for a new Nigeria.
He said, “The presidential election revealed so many things to Nigerians and I thank God for that. I thank all the foreign powers who commented on the election and condemned the integrity of the election.
“In fact I’m happy with the result the Labour Party got from the election not the ones announced by the INEC.
“Of course, we know that one is fake. But what we saw was the Labour Party winning Lagos and across the country.
“Some people who do not believe in the oneness of the country are now thinking otherwise. And the future of Nigeria is now brighter.
“I do not believe that Tinubu my friend will be sworn in as president. If that is done, it would be a disaster but I think this thing has opened the eyes of Nigerians.
“We thank the Yoruba, we thank the Hausa, and we thank every group in Nigeria for this openness. We are Nigerians and I think that is the message. Don’t mind the manipulation that made Peter Obi third.
“Everybody knows it is impossible, especially with the controversies surrounding the Muslim-Muslim ticket. Tinubu will not be President of Nigeria. I don’t see him being sworn in.”
“One must distinguish between the election as conducted and the election as reported. What to do? Some foreign countries are calling for the cancellation. For me, I don’t really think that is the only solution because it costs money.
“How much did we spend in this election? What we have to do is to go back to the documents, go back to all the systems we used and look at the correct results that came out, especially which came out before the problem arose or before the stoppage of the uploading.
“We look at it and declare results based on those results. There is no point going to waste more money. I believe this election has given hope for one Nigeria.”
Ezeife urged Nigerians to come together for a better system, adding that a new Nigeria is still possible.
KanyiDaily recalls that Peter Obi of the Labour Party has insisted that he won the election, vowing to explore all legal options to reclaim his mandate.
