A bandits attack victim, Zakaria Iliya has recalled his ordeal in the den of the criminals that resulted in the loss of his arm.
Iliya, who is 19 years old recently returned to his community, Ungwan Gora in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State for herbal treatment and shared his ordeal in an interview with The Punch.
According to him, the bandits had stormed his Community on Presidential election day and kidnapped him along with five other villagers.
He said: “On a fateful day while we were at the kidnappers’ den, they asked us to go and fetch water, when we came back I went to defecate, and while I was there I saw one of the bandits running towards me with a long sharp Matchet and chopped off my arm on the assumption I wanted to escape.
“Blood was gushing out without any help from anybody.
“The bandits continue beating me mercilessly without being remorseful of my condition.
“A sum of N1 million naira was paid as ransom before I was released,” Zakaria lamented.
The teenager disclosed that his parents had to struggle to pay the money before they secured his release.
In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that trapped Nigerian students in Sudan have yet to leave Khartoum, the country’s capital.
Reports say 40 buses were already on the ground to convey the students from Khartoum to Cairo.
