Chukwuma Soludo Inaugurates Anambra IRS, Says Agency Lifeblood Of Every Government

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo on Monday, charged the newly inaugurated members of the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to increase the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR).

Soludo described the agency as the lifeblood of every government.

Chukwuma Soludo gave the charge during the inauguration of members of the board at the Governor’s Lodge.

He reminded the board that the state has yet to start generating up to N3 billion a month on IGR.

He added that an over 180 percent turnaround on the state revenue is required as the 2023 budget depends on it.

The Anambra governor also inaugurated the Board of Anambra State Housing Development Corporation.

Inaugurating the board, Chukwuma Soludo charged it to bring about a positive disruptive change in the sector and bridge the gap of millions of housing deficit in the state.

The governor mandated the board, which is chaired by former Deputy Governor of Anambra, Emeka Sibeudu, to develop housing structures that would suit the desires of the people.

The chairman pledged complete commitment to disruptive change in the state’s housing development.

While the revenue board will be interfacing with the governor every three months for evaluation, the housing board is expected to build model estates.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani has reacted to the call by the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Bishop Mathew Kukah, to the incoming administration of Bola Tinubu to address the security challenges in the country.

Kukah in his Easter message on Sunday in Sokoto urged Tinubu to address the situation and begin the healing process for the teeming Nigerian population.
