The All Progressives Congress (APC) has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah, and all Nigerians, as they celebrate this year’s Eid El-Fitr, marking the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
This was contained in a statement issued on Friday afternoon by the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Barr. Felix Morka.
The statement said for Muslims all over the world, Ramadan, one of the five major pillars of Islam, is a sacred spiritual obligation, requiring abstinence, self-purification, discipline, reflection, gratitude, and rededication to the will of the Almighty Allah.
The APC noted that it is hoped that the lessons of the holy season will strengthen “our resolve to pursue and attain higher and transcendental ideals, and help us rededicate to more wholesome and patriotic living.”
It called on Nigerians to, “As we celebrate, may we show more love, respect, compassion, empathy, and tolerance towards our fellow citizens irrespective of religion, ethnicity, and social circumstance and to demonstrate greater faith and hope in our country’s future of assured greatness, especially with the Renewed Hope agenda of the incoming administration of our President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
The ruling party prayed that may the blessings of Eid endure in the lives of Nigerians and the nation.
In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that the World Health Organisation (WHO) on Friday, disclosed that more than 400 people have been killed and over 3,500 others hurt in the fighting in Sudan.
WHO Spokeswoman Margaret Harris disclosed this while briefing reporters in Geneva.
