Nigerians on Twitter have reacted to the death of a popular Instagram cloth vendor identified as Adeshina Olayinka popularly known as Khadi.
Khadi was found dead at a popular hotel in the Akobo area of Ibadan, Oyo State a few days ago.
known for her designer clothes and bag business on social media, Olayinka was said to have informed her friend of a meeting with an individual at Wetland Hotel in Akobo on the night of Wednesday 5th of April.
The man she was with, however, checked out early on Thursday morning which was followed by a phone call to Khadi’s room and she confirmed her safety to the receptionist.
Reports say Khadi was, unfortunately, found dead hours later when the receptionist reached out to inform her of her already overstaying.
Taking to their various Twitter handles, some Nigerians expressed doubt over Khadi’s supposed meeting with the said man.
While the police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, most Nigerians on Twitter argued that she was into hookups.
Hookup is slang that means a gateway to a coded industry of paying for sex. The art of hookup is a subtle way of paying for sex without the direct approach of prostitution and runs.
It is a sexual encounter without a long-term commitment.
Below are their reactions:

“Hope others learn. Do your business in the Hotel lounge or the reception area. Don’t be alone if your intention was to only sell your wares, be it male or female. Don’t lose focus, hotel environment could get you carried away.”

“Seriously gone wrong!!
Girls are easily deceived, it could be that she knows the man didn’t call her for business but still she went because it was on a COOL NIGHT to flex, that is one big reason for the masses to believe she went for something else, not her usual business.”

“Most of these girls that sell clothes on social media, especially bedsheets use it as cover for prostitution and hookup. They are actually selling themselves. But very few know this.”
