Muyiwa Awoniyi, the manager of Nigerian singer, Tems has recounted how his principal led a praise and worship session in her prison cell in Uganda.
KanyiDaily recalls that in December 2020, Tems, Omah Lay, and some members of their team were arrested and detained for flouting COVID-19 guidelines in Kampala, Uganda.
Recounting the incident during an interview on the latest episode of Menisms’ audiovisual podcast which was shared on Thursday, Muyiwa Awoniyi said Tems held praise and worship in the female section of the prison cell and all the prisoners were singing along with her.
Tems’ manager said; “Entering prison, as a woman, Tems, they have taken her to the female section. I was just worried about her. I am not with her. I was just wondering what the hell is going on.
“I came to find out that Tems conducted praise and worship in a whole prison cell. Everybody was singing with her. Like she took over the whole prison.”
