Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25th general election, Peter Obi has mourned a former Judge of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), in the Hague, Netherlands, Bola Ajibola.
Kanyi Daily earlier reported that Ajibola, who was also a former Attorney-General of Nigeria, died at the age of 89 on Saturday midnight after a long-time illness as a result of old age.
His death was announced by his eldest child, Segun Ajibola (SAN) in a statement, on Sunday in Abeokuta.
In a statement posted on his official Twitter handle, Obi conveyed his condolences to the family of the deceased.
According to him, the late Ajibola served Nigeria and the world diligently and honourably.
Peter Obi prayed to God to grant the family of the deceased to bear “this colossal loss” and give a peaceful repose to Ajibola’s soul.
He wrote, “My family and I convey our most profound condolences to the Ajibola family on the death of their patriarch, Prince Bola Ajibola.
“Prince Ajibola, a former Attorney-General of Nigeria, a former Judge of the International Court of Justice, Hague, Netherlands, served Nigeria and the world diligently and honourably.
“We pray that God Almighty will grant the family the fortitude to bear this colossal loss and give peaceful repose to his soul.”

In other news, Nigeria’s President-Elect, Bola Tinubu has rejoiced with Christians on the occasion of the Easter celebration.
In his Easter message posted on his official Twitter handle on Sunday, Tinubu called on Nigerians to “reflect on the priceless sacrifice and limitless love of God for mankind.”
