Bayo Onanuga, a spokesperson for the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, has reacted to a letter against his principal by a Nigerian celebrated author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
KanyiDaily recalls that Chimamanda Adichie had wrote an open letter to President Joe Biden of the United States, urging him not to accept the election results that produced Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as the ‘winner’.
The writer warned that if Biden recognizes Tinubu’s presidency, it would “tarnish America’s self-proclaimed commitment to democracy and give the sheen of legitimacy to an illegitimate process”.
Reacting on his Twitter page, Bayo Onanuga urged Biden to disregard Chimamanda’s letter, claiming she wrote a fiction inspired by the loss of her tribesman, Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate.
He wrote, “Dear President Joe Biden, please just trash the open letter by Chimamanda on Nigeria’s election once it gets to your desk. She wrote fiction, inspired by the monumental loss of her tribesman Peter Obi.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Bayo Onanuga had recently vowed that he won’t apologize for his ethnic slur against Igbos in Lagos because they are threat to Yorubas.
