The immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari has left the Eagle Square in Abuja for his home town, Daura, Kastina State.
Buhari, who attended the inauguration of Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima as the new president and vice president at the Eagle Square on Monday, departed for the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, en route to his home town, Daura, Katsina State.
Buhari’s departure occurred immediately after formally handing over flags and other symbols of office to Tinubu after he was sworn-in as the new president.
Before today’s inauguration ceremony, Buhari had a dinner at the State House Banquet Hall with Tinubu and other esteemed guests on Sunday.
Buhari has consistently expressed his intention to retire to his hometown in Daura and attend to his cattle after the conclusion of his tenure in office.
In Daura on Tuesday, Buhari will be honored with a Durbar ceremony, which serves as a welcoming celebration for his return to his beloved home.
