Newly inaugurated Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara has thanked the people of the state for the “great responsibility” given to him to preside over the state for the next four years.
He said he was genuinely touched by the spotlight and humbled by the honour.
Fubara assured the people of the state that he will be governor of all Rivers People.
He stated this in a short tweet on his official handle on Monday after he was sworn in as governor of the oil-rich state, taking over from Nyesom Wike whom he has always described as his mentor.
The Rivers governor wrote, “Fellow Rivers people, today, you have given me a great responsibility to preside over our State as your Governor for the next four years.
“I am genuinely touched by the spotlight and humbled by the honour. And this I will be: the Governor of all Rivers people.”
