Former Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima has been sworn-in as the 16th Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola administered the oath of office to Shettima during his inauguration at the Eagles Square in Abuja.

Kashim Shettima took the oaths at about 10.30am on Monday morning, May 29, while his wife, Nana Shettima, stood by his side during the momentous occasion.

Before this, the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, had also partaked in the formalities, thereby assuming the role of Nigeria’s 16th President.

KanyiDaily recalls that Kashim Shettima emerged as the Vice President in the presidential election held on February 25, serving as the running mate to Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
