American singer, Ne-Yo has asked a court to establish himself as the father of the two children he shares with his girlfriend Sade that led to the divorce from his ex-wife, Crystal Renay.
KanyiDaily recalls that Ne-Yo’s relationship with Sade was a main factor in breakdown of his marriage to Crystal, who filed for divorce last year.
In the divorce papers, Crystal Renay stated that the 43-year-old singer “committed the act of adultery” and “recently fathered a minor child with his paramour.”
The mother of three asked the court for primary physical custody of their children — Shaffer, 6, Roman, 3, and Isabella, 13 months — and to share joint legal custody.
Renay, who stated that she is “heartbroken and disgusted” by her husband’s acts, also seeked temporary and permanent alimony as well as a “sufficient amount of child support. The divorce was finalised in January.
It was gathered that Ne-Yo fathered two sons, Braiden and Brixton, with Sade outside of his marriage, while he was still married to ex-wife Crystal Renay.
Braiden was born in 2021, while Sade gave birth to Brixton just seven weeks ago in February.
According to TMZ, Ne-Yo has asked the court to establish parentage for his kids which he had with Sade and he’s requesting joint legal and physical custody of them, as well.
In the court documents, Ne-Yo whose real name Shaffer Smith is hoping that Braiden and Braxton will be ‘”ligible to inherit from him as if they were born in wedlock.”
Before his marriage to Crystal Renay, Ne-Yo also father to two children from his relationship with ex-girlfriend Monyetta Shaw; Madilyn, 12, and Mason, 11.
The singer is paying Crystal $12,000 (£9,493.80) per month in child support and will pay for their three children’s’ tuition fees. He also agreed to pay his ex-wife a lump sum of $1.6 million (£1,265,840).
KanyiDaily recalls that Crystal Renay had accused Ne-Yo of being a “serial cheater” who makes several women “sell their bodies” to him unprotected.
