Some buildings within the Nigerian Air Force Base along Airport Road in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja were on Wednesday morning, gutted by fire.
The cause of the fire incident which caused panic is unknown.
Reports say operatives of the Federal Fire Service quickly intervened to put out the fire from the military base which is beside the Nigerian Correctional Service National Headquarters.
The Head of Operations, FFF FCT, Amiola Adebayo, confirmed the incident and said firefighters are working hard to completely put out the fire.
Adebayo said, “The fire gutted part of the NAF Base, and our men are here putting out the fire, and we’re working hard to completely quench the fire.
“However, I can’t confirm the cause of the fire outbreak yet, but we’ll put out a statement once our findings are concluded.”
In other news, Kanyi Daily reported the Action People’s Party (APP) on Wednesday, announced that it has withdrawn its petition against Nigeria’s President-elect, Bola Tinubu in the ongoing proceedings challenging his victory at the polls.
Obed Agu, who is the counsel for the party, disclosed this at Wednesday’s proceedings.
