A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has congratulated Nigerian chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci for breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time by an individual.

Hilda had on April 2, 2023, announced in a post on her Instagram handle, that she was going to make her five-year-long dream a reality, stating that she will cook for four days and four nights to break the 87 hours, 45 minutes, set by Chef Lata Tondon in Rewa, India in 2019.

Originally scheduled to begin on April 28th, the event was moved to May 11th to accommodate the additional attendees who registered for the cook-a-thon at Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos.

On Sunday, May 14, the Nigerian chef replied to a tweet where Guinness World Records wrote “Today is a good day to break a world record”, stating that she was “on it.”

Hilda Baci, who launched into the competition at exactly 4 pm when she put on her cooker on Thursday, May 11, smashed Lata Tondon’s record on Monday morning, May 15.

Reno Omokri in a tweet on his official handle on Monday morning, said Hilda has put Nigeria positively on the map by breaking the record.

According to him, because of Hilda, Nigerian youths will be inspired to break many other records.

He added that “You are a big part of the positive side of Nigeria that the world will soon be seeing more of.”

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that a video surfaced online showing Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti bragging about slapping police officers in the past.

It is not clear when the video was made, but it comes a day after the singer was seen in a viral video,  pushing and also slapping a policeman on the Third mainland bridge in Lagos State on Saturday, May 13.
