A former lawmaker, Shehu Sani has accused Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, of being desperate for favour and accomdation from the president-elect, Bola Tinubu.
Shehu Sani stated this while reacting to the public holiday declared by Governor Wike over Tinubu’s visit to the state for the commissioning of projects.
KanyiDaily recalls that Wike declared Wednesday as public holiday and ordered closure of all schools and businesses to enable residents give Tinubu a rousing welcome.
Tinubu will be on a two-day official visit to Rivers to commission the Rumuola/Rumuokwuta flyover and the ultra-modern Magistrates’ Court Complex, Port Harcourt, on Wednesday and Thursday, May 3 and 4, respectively.
Reacting on his Twitter page, Shehu Sani condemned Wike’s action and also urged Tinubu not to encourage such actions so it won’t become a norm.
The former lawmaker noted that grounding the economic, social and educational activities of the state to commission project is a mark of desperation for favours and accommodation.
He wrote, “Commissioning a project is a mark of a great achievement. Kudos. But grounding the economic, social and educational activities of the state for that purpose is a mark of desperation for favour and accommodation by a lickspittle. Tinubu can say no to that or else it becomes the norm.”
