Jackie Idimogu, a well-known animal rights activist and the President of the My Dog & I group, has chastised chef Hilda Baci for eating dog meat.
Hilda Baci, who attempted a Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon, recently visited her home state of Akwa Ibom with influencer Enioluwa Adeoluwa.
A viral video showed the couple eating at a table where dog meat was served. Hilda admitted to eating dog meat while trying to get Enioluwa to try it, but he declined.
In response to the footage, Idimogu accused Hilda of animal cruelty in a video statement posted on her social media profile.

She chastised Hilda for eating dog meat despite her group members and their canines showing up to support the chef during her cookathon.
“Members of My Dog & I group wore their shirts to go and support Hilda, dogs were present at the cookathon to support Hilda,” Idimogu stated. I know there were two or three dogs because when my group members went there, they made a point of taking pictures and movies with each one.
“Imagine my surprise this evening as I scrolled through Instagram and saw on a news blog that this same Hilda posted about eating a dog.”
She admitted that she was first hesitant to support Hilda during her cookathon after learning that she was from Akwa Ibom, but she chose to give her the benefit of the doubt because she believed the chef had been exposed.
“Hilda, in her infinite mercy and wisdom, thought that the best thing for her to do after the world celebrated Nigeria through her relentlessness was to think that the best thing for her to do after the world celebrated Nigeria through her relentlessness.” And now that the world’s spotlight is shining on Nigeria through you, you chose to show the world that Nigerians are dog eaters? No, no. I’m filming this video to prove that Nigerians do not eat dogs.”
